About

“Tiferet-Tovanot” runs a variety of programming: Weekly discussion groups, individual counseling for each girl, monthly experiential events, facilitator training sessions, events and seminars for facilitators, and ongoing supervision for “Tovanot” professionals and facilitators.

In this way, with the help of customized tools and content streamlined for our target audience, we are cultivating the next generation of Jewish mothers.

Beyond the educational goal of the program, which is realized through the discussion groups, “Tovanot” also seeks to endow participants with a pleasant and experiential environment.  Therefore, in the context of the program, we conduct several experiential workshops and get-togethers in conjunction with different holidays. For example, before Purim we host a balloon workshop and before Shavuos we host a flower-arranging workshop etc.

Beyond this, once a year, in the summer, we host a one-day professional seminar for group facilitators that focuses on team building and professional training. This professional seminar is a synthesis of content that is experiential and educational. At “Tovanot” we believe that both participants and staff connect better to content presented in an interactive and exciting way, thereby enabling these messages to become an intrinsic part of who they are, and guide them at every critical step of their lives.

Weekly discussion groups are conducted in small groups of twelve girls or less, under the guidance of specially trained facilitators. The goal of these groups is to strengthen each girl’s personal resilience while identifying spiritual and emotional difficulties and providing precise assistance when necessary. The activities are conducted in a pleasant and experiential atmosphere, with great snacks and a family-like environment.

As part of the discussion groups, participants have the option of having one-on-one meetings with their facilitator, who functions as a responsible adult. During these sessions, each girl is encouraged to raise dilemmas that she does not (or cannot) raise in public, in the context of the discussion groups.

These meetings give each girl a tailor-made response, and enable girls to undergo a short-term mentoring process, and be referred for professional help, if necessary. Even more importantly, through these counseling sessions the participant develops a close connection with her facilitator that becomes increasingly significant in her post-high school years. When faced with challenges, she has someone to turn to for guidance and advice.

As part of Tovanot’s ongoing activities, professional training is conducted for educational staff and facilitators specially trained to work for “Tovanot”. The professional training includes different lectures that take place across the country, monthly guidance and professional training sessions, alongside a long-term training track conducted in conjunction with the professional training center at Seminar Hachadash in Yerushalayim. In the different sessions, participants discuss relevant dilemmas and challenges that come up from time to time, alongside professional training conducted by professionals in related fields.

The ongoing professional training conducted for educational staff across the country aims to impart the unique “Tovanot” model and integrate the need to provide students with relevant tools for life, even in the context of their regular school day, in large classes, and large groups.
